Biag ni Lam Ang’s Descendants – Ikalawang Yugto

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

Ang bawat makabagbag damdaming episode ay matutunghayan dito sa  ‘IF YOU NEED ENCOURAGEMENT..POST HERE….’ .

Life is not always a bed of roses’.

10 UTOS NG KAMAY NA BAKAL para sa ika-2 EB

{mosgoogle left}1.

To be lead by the Sgt. at arms.

5. Observe toilet break . 9:00-9:15 am at 3:00- 3:15pm only. Otherwise gamitin ang arinolang dala ni a69pd.

9. Wear your sticker badge at all times.

10. Joke, Joke Joke ang #1-9,   It’s a day of fun, food and fellowship and we promise another history in the making.

Na-shortlist ang 2 logo at 3 back design.

Mayday , Mayday  !!!

Press panic button now na  !!!

Inhale Exhale, Inhale, Exhale.   repeat 100 times .
Emergency meeting is next to impossible, so next option is YM conference. Whew! Everything is under control, nakapili naman ng 3 logos at 3 designs.   Kinabukasan,   call to designer perspect.X for revision, ym kay Kas,  email kay Ginginer, ym kay Kas,  ym kay Jhonalyn,  ym kay Kas, update sa PSG, ym kay Kas, call kay perspect.X.   Siguradong pasok sa top 10  ‘Busiest day of my Life’ ang araw na ito. Note to self, ‘Huwag ganun Bingo_sg, huwag adik, ayusin mo ang buhay mo!’.

Early bird sila grl2008,  jdex, ying,   at ginginer.

Inuna ang Logo at Back Design Votation.

Landslide  ang Logo #1 at Back Design # 2.

i-b10.jpg

bingo_sg :   ‘Sure!’

d_survivor:   ‘Ang galing mo ah!’

bingo_sg: ‘Opkors! Akala mo ha!  HINDI mo ako maloloko noh!’   (*with conviction*)

i-b11.jpgi-b12.jpg

Nag-tie sila Judy at Steampunk,  kaya isa pang round. Another adult game eh ang trip to Jerusalem with talong twist. Handa syang i-share ang ilang  ‘Tips and Tricks’ tungkol dito.   Mabuti na lang at walang nasaktan sa games, di bale ever ready naman ang true to life nurse nating kabsat na si graceleo for first aid, just in case.
i-b15.jpgi-b16.jpg

It’s not  Uber Hyped, kapag sinabi kong bumaha talaga ng food and drinks sa  araw na iyon.

Hindi ko ma-Da i-b18.jpgWho kung sino sino ang nagdala ng ‘Uray anya ti Masida’  stated above but you know who you are.

“It’s a surefire way to find your relative!” .

So temporarily eh ginawan natin ng paraan.

Sabi nga nila di ba, the more the mannier. It’s never too late to join us.  Third EB Planning, time starts now!

COMING SOON!!!

Representative badminton players from PinoySG Badminton Club successfully took the Dual Meet Championship against the top caliber shuttlers of BM8 and UTAC Pinoy Badminton Group last July 4, 2009 at Jurong West Recreation and Sports Center.
With participation of 132 players from each group, the day begins and ends with intense energy and excitement as each team battles for the dual meet crown.
Image
There were three skill levels which was Level A- Advanced, Level B+ – Intermediate and Level B- – Beginner.

Each team played in Mens Doubles, Womens Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

This is the 3rd Invitational Badminton Dual Meet organized by PinoySG Badminton club in cooperation with all other Filipino badminton groups here in Singapore. The first and second dual meet were played against formidable team in the likes of Team Lagalag and Tropang Smashers.
For this 3rd Dual Meet, PinoySG tested their playing skills against two groups BM8 and UTAC Pinoy who decided to combine their best players against PinoySG.
BM8s or Badminton Mates is a group of professionals and friends who were badminton enthusiast in Singapore and was first established last 2005. BM8 has been quite active and considered as one of the known organizers of badminton tourneys for the Filipino community.
BM8 is currently headed by Alejandro Dizon, Nante Alvarez and Jacqueline Quintos. The group has 35 active players and has successfully hosted two badminton tournaments in its 4 year existence.
UTAC Pinoy Group started last 2007 mostly composed of UTAC Semicon Filipino employees. As of now, their members have expanded to other Filipino badminton enthusiast from different semiconductor companies in Singapore.
UTAC Pinoy Group has currently active 40 players and regularly played in Yiu Chu Kang and Yishun Sports Hall. This group is currently headed by Joey Baldemoro, more popularly known in the online Pinoy forums as Sgt. Bob.
PinoySG Badminton Club was organized by a group of professional who called themselves as badheadz last May 2007 during its first badminton game at Clementi Sports Hall. Majority of their members were active forumers from a popular Filipino online community WWW.PINOYSG.COM
PinoySG Badminton Club is currently headed by Gary Cristobal and is supported by other members of BADHEADZ or badminton heads.
PinoySG Badminton club is so far the biggest Pinoy badminton group with 200 active members and countless of guest players both from Singapore and Philippines. It is also the only government registered Filipino badminton club in Registry of Societies as of this date.
The 3rd Invitational Badminton Dual Meet 2009 was initiated by PinoySG Badminton Club in cooperation with BM8 and UTAC Pinoy badminton group.
{mosgoogle right}This tournament was officiated by duly accredited umpires from Singapore Badminton Association whose officiating stint in Aviva Open is widely known.

Again….as part of the continuous objective of the men and women behind the veil of what they called as badheadz, this tourney is their way of reaching out to all other Filipinos here in Singapore to promote friendship, harmony and cooperation.

Congratulations to all especially to BM8 and UTAC Pinoy Group for the good fight and the friendship and utmost display of sportsmanship.

Mabuhay ang PinoySG Badminton Club!!

Mabuhay and BM8 and UTAC Pinoy Group!!

ANIA TI RUPA IDIAY BANGIR (ILOCANOSG)

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

Sarita ni Bingo_sg

I visit PinoySG site for a sole purpose of checking the remittance/exchange rate.

ONE day bigla na lang nag-first honor sa forum section in Big and Bold capital letters ang title na ILOCANO’s 1ST EB EVER!!!with matching countdown pa. Binasa ko ang thread, in fairness, the list of attendees keeps getting longer huh. Hmmm, pasado naman ako sa requirements, kuripot kanu.. mabalin, agngisit siko kanu … kinitak dyay siko… haan meten nga unay ‘slight’ laing, mabalin-en. Anya pay ngarud? Ah dyay most important part, must be an Ilocano, makasau ken makaawat ti Ilocano. Awan danagen apo, saan met nga mailako ket maka-awat nak ken makasau basit. Gosh, hahanapan ba ako ng proof of purchase at tatak ng pagka-suri doon? Ok, let me analyze this first before making a decision.

PROS:
1. First Ilocano EB ever daw ito and we are going to make a history, baka maisulat sa Bannawag ito.
3. Awan met papanak ‘to no June 21.
4. Pang-dagdag friendster, facebook, twitter, flicker at multiply din sila
5. We have something in common, pag naglaro ng the boat is sinking, group yourselves into ethnic race , sa isang bangka lng kami sasakay.
8. New years resolution: ‘Do something I’ve never done before.’.

CONS:
1. Baka may quiz na translate tagalog into ilocano
2. Baka may recitation
3. may fine pag nagsalita ng Tagalog
4. Ag-dara dyay agung ko (*nosebleed*) no katuntungan nak ti Ilocano

6. RA6869 – confusing sya, sabi nya kasi na-realize nya na lalaki na daw ang gusto nya ngayon, so malamang eh dati syang lalaki.
7. toxxi6 – sya daw taga-kodak, so male ito, toys for the big boys ang mga DSLR
8. WicK3DAn9EL – mukha naman syang male sa medyo blurred nyang avatar, to be confirmed na lang sa EB
9. Gingineer – male sya kasi nag preliminary EB sila at sabi nya kay kaskasera eh nalapsat ken napintas nga balasang, nag-da-damoves na agad.
10. Colokoy_ako – male sya, sino ba namang matinong babae ang tatawagin ang sarili nyang colokoy.
12. Ngobngob – binaligtad daw na Bongbong, therefore male ito

Finally the day has come, maysa nga salop laeng nga Ilocano words dyay balon ko.

Kunada met ket, ‘PSG nick ken Avatar could be deceiving’ . It’s getting late at mabisin kamin, kaya after mag pray ni Kaskasera eh ina-announce na ang pinaka-famous phrase in Ilocano according to the survey na “Mangan tayon’.

KALASAG Joins First Annual Freedom Climb

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 11:05 pm

logo_freedom_climb.jpg

In commemoration of the 111th day of Philippine Independence, Filipino mountaineers from all parts of the country joined together for the first time for one common goal -to be united and raise the Philippine flag on the summit of various mountains in the Philippines. The event was called the Philippine Annual Freedom Climb.

The event’s goal was to climb the mountains on June 12, our Independence Day, and simultaneously raise the Philippine Flag on The 13th of June at exactly 8:00am. A target of 40 mountain summits was climbed in the Philippines on the said occasion. This event also served as a unifying cause for mountaineers to work together in promoting environmental awareness and also to commend our heroes for their sacrifices to gain our independence.

KALASAG as a Filipino mountaineering group joined and took part in this event.
Seven members of the KALASAG from Singapore went back to the Philippines and joined with four more Philippines-based KALASAG members to team up with the TUKAD Adventures Club to climb Mt. Natib in Orani, Bataan.

Seventeen other KALASAG members did their share and climbed Gunung Belumut in Kluang, State of Johor, Malaysia with the same timing of event.

It was the combined joy, pride and happiness of being a mountaineer plus the patriotic feeling of raising our flag that made this event unforgettable. The event is really a memorable experience for all members of KALASAG and an exciting fete for others who had heard the story.

3RD PINOYSG FUN4ALL BOWLING TOURNAMENT SCORED A STRIKE WITH PARTICIPANTS!

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

by: chel enriquez

On the 2nd of May, a crowd of over 200 bowling fans quickly packed Planet Bowl at Civil Club for the 3rd PSG Fun4ALL Bowling Tournament. For the past two years, there had not been as overwhelming of bowling-enthusiasts and not-so-enthusiasts to ever attend this event. This shows the increasing growth of the PinoySG community.

Froknoi, who initiated the first bowling EB way back in 2007 never expected that from a small not-so-competitive hobby among some PSG members became a high-spirited, sought-after event of the year.

A big thanks to our sponsors, Xpress Money, Outback Steakhouse, Juzz1, Headstart and iTalkBB and of course, the endless support of our members (players, cheerers and their families). It’s a success!!!

Read more after the break.

3rd PinoySG Fun4All Bowling Tournament

This year saw 19 team entries: Team Duxton I – Cherubs, Team Duxton II – Echos, TBAGZ, K’berkz, DTK RL & SFs (Alpha Team), DTK RL & SFs (Bravo Team), PSG Kalasag Mountaineering Team, Team Bisdak, Batangeno – Team Karibok, Tropang Sunday Smashers – The Smashing Bowlers!, Team PSG Sunday Smashers – The Crosscourt Bowlers!, Team SolFlex, Baron Team, Team Wemblebee, The Crossliners Bowlers Team, Team Newbie Uno – Green Strikers, Team Newbie Dos, PinoySG Badminton Club and V’Berkz.

With $650 worth of prizes given away, along with trophies, certificates, vouchers and thumbdrives, some teams went full blast with their respective weekly practices. And after much sweat, preparation and anticipation, the day finally came. Excitement filled the venue, as the trophies and prizes were put on display. There are prizes for high scorers and lots of fun awards (Turkey award, 69 points, 101 points, etc)

trophies.jpg

We held a mini walk off for the judges (Imtiaz of Xpressmoney and Ryan of iTalkBB) before the official roll-off, where each team showed off their team uniform for the Best Uniform award. The judges awarded points for having the psg logo, a bowling theme and originality.

After their hour long warm-up, the tournament officially started with a loud cheer and off they went to play 3 games and battle it out for the championship title.

For the individual fun awards, people were initially confused with what the heck the crazy emcee (yours truly) was talking about but finally came to their senses and hurriedly ran towards me to say “they’ve got turkey” (3 strikes in a row), a 69 or 101! Awards were given for the following fun individual category:

First 5 bowlers to get 69 points in a frame:

1. Jiv (crossliners)
2. Shath (K’Berkz)
3. BabyDamulag (Baron Team)
4. Kanor (Team Duxton 1 – Cherubs)
5. Jetstar (Team Solflex)

First 5 bowlers to get 101 points in a frame:

1. Loelle Lilo (V’Berks)
2. Jopet ((The Smashing Bowlers)
3. Chinkywinky (K’Berkz)
4. Aldwin (Team Solflex)

First 3 bowlers to get turkey in a game (3 strikes in a row -XXX):

1. John Patrick (V’Berks)
2. Nad (Team Newbie Dos)
3. Lancelot (Team Wemblebee)

After the first game, we called upon the representatives for Mr. and Ms. PSG, which caused a shooting frenzy! The couples strutted their stuff and posed for the cameras. This award was also judged by Mr Imtiaz (Thanks to Chinoy and Mhark for the great pictures).

The games went on for the next 3 hours with non-stop cheering, photo taking and eating! You could literally feel the buzz in the air, as you see people make new friends, have fun and bond with their families. Non-players were not left out of the fun as I entertained them with a short “Bring Me” game, giving away Outback vouchers and A-freight umbrellas.

The event came to an end as the DTK, RL & SF Alpha team rolled their last ball. As the points were being tallied, we awarded the Best Uniform and Mr. and Ms. PSG:

Team SolFlex – Best Uniform
Tbagz – Caloyski and Marianangel

We played more exciting Bring Me’s, and gave out the other fun awards as the tension built up on who will emerge champions for the 3RD PSG Fun4ALL Bowling Tournament 2009.

Youngest Bowler – Zaynard aka RD (Team Newbie Dos)
Oldest Bowler – Tatamakata
Most Drunk Bowler – Tatamakata and Eartling
Loudest Team – DTK, RL and SFs (Alpha and Bravo Team)

After I ran out of jokes and categories to give prizes to, the results finally came out. We gave away $400 cash prizes and $250 worth of Outback Vouchers:

PinoySG Badminton Club whips the Year of Ox with a smash

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

pinoysg badinton club

The year 2008 has been very exciting for the strong 150 members of PinoySG Badminton club as we end it with a line up of tournaments and club activities. Recently we just finished our PSG Interclub Badminton Tournament 2008, where each member enjoyed the fun, laughter and the game as they out skill each other in the sport of Badminton.

With the coming year of the Ox which is 2009, as most of us is filled with apprehension and doubt brought by this recession mania, playing badminton would be quite a great relief for everyone during weekends.

Year 2008 was filled with achievements for our members, where aside from having our own exclusive tourneys; we have participated on other tourneys conducted by other Filipino badminton groups.

We won our first Dual Meet Champion Cup against a very formidable team, Tropang Smashers in a very slight margin of points. Although we won, we felt that their team is still very strong and skilled against most of our players. And that inspires us to practice more.

Our members did well during the BM8 Badminton Tournament, where our Level A Players (Antonio Racho and Vic Nale) got the most coveted Mens Doubles Championship trophy which they failed to capture during the Tropang Smashers Tournament. As well as the Level C Mens Doubles Championship captured by Emil Niduaza and Norman Torres.

Year 2009 would definitely another year to watch for as our enthusiastic and dynamic Badheadz, plans the next tourneys and activities ahead. As a registered badminton club, we are very proud that we are legally authorized to collect membership fees to fund our daily activities.

This allows us also to conduct tournaments legally and within government guidelines

Last January 9, the so called badheadz conducted its first meeting for 2009, headed by Gary Cristobal. Present during the meeting were as seen on photo

For all the members and players, these are the tourneys that you will be watching for the next months to go.

2ND Annual PinoySG Badminton Open 2009

Started last year and participated by the majority of Filipino badminton groups in Singapore. Hopefully, if we can solicit more sponsors and funding, we will be giving cash prizes to all the winners. We are still on negotiation with a private company on major sponsorship.

2nd PinoySG Intercolor Badminton Challenge 2009

Date to be confirmed

This is an exclusive badminton tournament only for the registered 150 members of badminton club. GUNUNG PANTI FRIENDSHIP CLIMB FOR A CAUSE

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am
Story by: Lady Anarchy

It was an invitation from Bundokeros Adventure Club (BAC), an organization of friends with a common love for outdoors and a passion for adventure. They are also committed to responsible mountaineering and the will to help protect and preserve nature. Our group, the PSG Mountaineers, was informed that this climb would somehow be different. As the title Friendship Climb for a Cause says, you don’t have to tickle your brain cells to know what it is all about. But to give a head start, each of us paid a certain amount of money to raise a fund. The fund was then given to the Globe Adventure Club to aid them in their Medical Mission for our Aetas brothers and sisters in the Philippines.

Let me now cut off the introduction and begin the story. So a week before the climb, as expected, my mailbox was so flooded of continuous reminders, jokes, teasing, and pranks from my “kafatids”, as we fondly called each other. Of course there are a few who kept silent and worked their butts off in their offices to beat deadlines or else forget about joining the climb. I can feel the excitement and anxiousness from everyone. Nov.29, Saturday, the day we were all been waiting for. Call time: 6:30 am at Kranji Station. Aside from the fact that I live one station away, I was so excited that I arrived before the clock strikes 6. I thought I was the first one to arrive. It was an sms from Roura that I realized that some of them were already at the other side of the station. As I joined them, I saw the coach waiting for us at the other side of the road. While a few made their last minute back outs, the group was completed at about 7:15 am, 45 mins. late from the estimated time of departure. We arrived at Kota Tinggi at 9:15 am, took “teksis” and reached the jump off point at about 10:15 am. The all-Filipino group from Malaysia, whom some are working in Kuala Lumpur, was already waiting for us. Our group didn’t have packed lunches so we just spent the time teasing, joking, laughing, taking pictures and fooling around while the two other groups devour on their food.

It was about 12 pm when we began to trek, shortly after I recited a prayer. Walking through the woods was not that hard, it’s just like “a walk in the park”. But the highlight of the trail was a very huge rock that you have to climb over to be able to reach the summit. With a slope of almost 90 degrees and ropes to hold on to, it reminded me of how scared I am of heights. We arrived at the peak at about 2 pm, just as the itinerary stated that the trek would take 2 hrs. The Bundokeros lead pack was already setting their camp near the cliff, the part of the summit with the breath-taking view. We set our own camp a few meters away from the Bundokeros. While Gunung Panti’s spacious peak can accommodate large number of climbers, it is also cozy for socials because of its white sand and sturdy trees to suspend your “hammocks”. As everyone settled down, we cooked rice and had late lunch, having a fair share of the all-time-favorite adobo, canned tuna and laing from Goldilocks. Some slept after eating, while I strut around the camp, talking, joking and laughing with the few others who didn’t sleep as well. Some of the photography enthusiasts took pictures of the very dramatic sunset.

The dinner was ready at around 7:30 pm but the group decided to eat at 8 pm and wait for Tere, Albert85 and Painintheass, which are on their night trek with a couple of Bundokeros. The 30 mins. wait was agonizing for some of us whose stomachs were crumbling. 8 pm came and none of them showed up so the group ate the “replay” adobo, tuna and laing. After dinner the 3 different groups gathered around at the Bundokeros camp. Jai of BAC made a short speech, and then each one of us introduced ourselves. It was an opportunity for everyone to get to know each other, to get phone numbers, YMs and Friendster. hehe… The group shared bottles of liquor. I just took 2 shots of tequila and crept back to the tent to sleep. It felt like eternity, I was awakened by familiar voices outside. I realized that the group who had their night trek finally arrived. It was already 11:30 pm. I went out of the tent and welcomed my other 3 kafatids.

We had our own socials, embracing the coldness, laughing our hearts out as our loud voices echoed through the mountains. Hours passed by… and there was total silence…

It was 6:45 am when my celfone alarmed, 15 mins. earlier than the wake up call. The early birds got advantage of the boiled water for their noodles. Some ate bread and biscuits. After breakfast and the break camp, we spent the rest of the time taking pictures. It was a very funny bonding moment for us. At 9:40 am, we gathered around as Dez led the prayer and began to leave the camp. This time we will be doing a traverse, descending via Lukut trail. We expected that the trek going down will take about 2 and a half hrs. but something unforeseen happened. The lead group took the wrong trail. We were all walking for hours, the lead group reached a dead end, and it was too late. We had no choice but to go back. So the adventure began… with most of us left with no trail water, the next few hours were excruciating. We made several stop over as some of the Bundokeros scouted the area, looking for possible trails. We went on and on… hungry, thirsty, and tired.

Call it luck or blessing in disguise, the rain began to pour. Some put towels on their heads and drank the water that was sipped into it. I for one opened my mouth to catch the raindrops. Albert opened an umbrella and placed it upside down and did manage to collect a few ounces of water. One of my kafatids even confessed that she licked the wet leaves. It was like never ending… mud, steep slopes, slippery rocks, leeches, thorns, hornet stings. Is this for real, I thought, when by this time I should be enjoying of what Kota Tinggi resort has to offer. As we reached the foot of the mountain we passed by a river. We all happily drank water from it. Ahh… it felt like I haven’t drink for years. It was already 6:00 pm when we finally arrived at the last stop – Bahay ni Manang. Each one has his or her own tale of what happened in the last 8 hours. We all washed and dressed up, took “teksis” and went to the place where the coach awaits us. The driver has been waiting for us for almost 3 hours. We all met at a famous fastfood. They ran out of rice so some decided to eat at a nearby local coffee shop. As for me, I gave myself a treat – 2 pcs. chicken, baked potato, coleslaw and ice-cold soft drink. Uhmm…

{mosgoogle left}Truly an unforgettable experience, this climb proved one thing. That regardless of the group we belong, of age, gender and status, Filipinos will unite as one to help the poor and the needy.

9:30 pm, as I seat comfortably in the bus, I looked around… I thought I saw smiles on everyone’s tired faces.
