PinoySG Warfreakz wins 2nd Place in Singapore Paintball Novice Series 2008 1st Leg

It was 8:00am in the morning and PSG warfreakz warriors came smiling and wondering what would be the outcome of todays tournament. The local Singaporean paintball groups came in force with full jersey uniforms and banners.

RedLords were in a fiery red jersey, bringing with them their banner and full technical team. White Death and Death Mavericks came in pitch black jersey, a color that symbolizes their deathly presence on field. Hot fuzz were in bright blue jersey, the A Team in white speckled jersey and Wargh Nuts in National Service BDU uniform.

The elimination round starts with PSG Warfreakz battling against White Death, a brother group of Death Mavericks who was known for their international exposure in Malaysia. Allan (Blade) runs through the snake bunker and was able to eliminate their first man before he was called out for accidentally going out beyond the line. However the setback on Allan(Blade), was reinforced by Kristian (Speed) by rushing forward and eliminating the remaining man after a quick ground backroll as Marcus (Nabelrock) was doing a suppress fire on his position. First game was won by PSG Warfreakz, as the 4 man team begins to send shivers to other teams as their NO FEAR tactics worked effectively.

The second game with Death Mavericks was finished in a quick 30 seconds as Allan (Blade) rushes through the snake bunker and eliminated the 2 Mavericks players. Kristian(Speed) and Marcus(Nabel) upon seeing the kill, rushes forward to shoot down the remaining man with a rapid fire. PSG Warfreakz won again the second game.

Following games were won by the same NO FEAR tactics that eliminates every team that came to PSG Warfreakz way but a change into defensive strategy in 5th and 6th game against A team and Team Wargh Nuts proved to be futile when warfreakz suffer two consecutive losses. Paco (Ipoy) provided the back defensive shield for Allan (Blade) and Marcus ( Nabelrock) at this games but the delayed forward rush of Allan(Blade) and Marcus(Nabelrock) were usually met with sudden headshot. Offensive positioning were resumed to original plan and games that followed were won by PSG warfreakz consecutively. The 7th game that followed and until the end of elimination round saw the warfreakz stand by their name as the three warriors rushes forward shouting and shooting like crazy to their opponents.

The end of 1st elimination round ranks PSG warfreakz as top 1 based on total points and match wins. Local Singaporean groups, RedLords, Hot Fuzz and White Death follows respectively. Semi Finals was fought with Team Hot Fuzz and PSG Warfreakz quickly disintegrates their defensive position with barrage of rapid fire. Allan (Blade) proves to be very effective in the snake bunker as Allan (NabelRock) and Kristian(Speed) provides the backup fire continously.

The Finals round started with a heavy downpour which makes the warfreakz worried as they noticed their battle dress uniform started to get heavy as it absorbs more water. The absence of visor on their mask proves to be diificult as their vision were blurred with flowing water up on their heads. The game started as PSG Warfreakz fights it out with Red Lords under the heavy downpour.

The stray paintball that unluckily hits the hopper of Marcus (NabelRock) during the breakout serves as the turning point of the warfreakz strategy, as Kristian (Speed) was struggling with his blurred vision as he tried to take out the defensive position of a RedLord behind the twin tombstone bunker. Kristian (Speed), unaware of the rushing RedLord in the right side of the field was shoot down behind his back. Allan (Blade) was left out with no back support and fight it out face to face with a RedLord behind the snake bunker. Allan (Blade) unfortunately was put down with a reactive shot as they fought it face to face. PSG Warfreakz loses the Finals and settles for second place.

They came with bowed heads that day…..with their humility that was manifested with the absence of a team cheer shout on every game they won. However, inside the players area, the PSG warfreakz showed to other Singaporean teams what PSG warfreakz was made of – The Filipino Fighting Spirit and Golden Friendship. Their Papaya Dance which was performed with a Metallica rock music proves to be very popular among other teams as their respective video cameras were focused to them.

PSG warfreakz funny bone were proven to be very effective in winning friendship on all other teams as Marcus (Nabelrock), Paco (Ipoy), Allan (Blade) and Kristian (Speed) perform a robot and papaya dance anywhere and anytime they feel the need. It was one great day, but PSG Warfreakz left the field with honor and pride as they proudly carried the Philippine Flag patch in their neck and right shoulder.

Mabuhay ang PSG Warfreakz!!!!

Mabuhay ang PinoySG!!!

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!

40 PinoySG Warfreakz storms Johor Bahru for Paintball battle

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

by SpeedBiker

The biggest turnout so far for paintball battle organized by PinoySG warfreakz started with a Barbecue Party last March 14, 2008. It was an acquaintance and awards party hosted by Sweetsleen and Exhopek at Normanton Park to meet up with the participants and to acknowledge the best players last January and February paintball matches. The night ended with a one shot of tequila drink wishing for a good game for tomorrow.

The fine and clear day of March 15, was greeted with 4o PinoySG members and 4 spectators assembled at Kranji MRT station. Everyone was in high spirit and filled with excitement, as organizers Nabelrock and Exhopek prepared everyone for departure to Johor Bahru. After long hours of waiting and queue in Singapore immigration, the warfreakz arrived at Larkin Bus Terminal and boarded the rented Causeway Link Bus Liner. As expected, wacky and loud voices blended with the random flashes of lights from different digital cameras on board. It was one noisy and fun 2 hour bus ride to the jungle game site.

It was almost 2pm as the warfreakz arrive at the game site, and each one hurriedly gear up as they prepared for battle. As the ordinary looking gentlemen and ladies transform into fierce looking soldiers with their military uniforms and masks, game marshals prepared for the ultimate battle in the hill. Both commanders of red and yellow team, planned their own strategy with their team members and instructed their squad leaders for possible offensive and defensive tactics.

FIRST BATTLE: SKIRMISH (KILL ‘EM ALL)

The game site is a bushy and hilly place where each player needs to climb up the steep hill to reach the base. The first battle started with a face to face head on clash, where each team meets in a center point and try to eliminate all the players from the opposing team. Both teams run for cover as paintballs were shot on opposite direction. Yellow Team fell first with most number of casualties, but their more experienced leaders, were able to outwit the remaining number of Red team, when they decided to climb up to the steep hill. From the top hill, they were able to position themselves and barge into the road with an ambush. The Red team warriors fell one by one, as the remaining warriors struggle to put up an offensive by climbing up the hill. The whole Red team fight valiantly as their commander, was put down with a rapid fire from the Yellow snipers hidden behind the bushes. Red team was eliminated and Yellow Team wins with 3 remaining warriors alive.

SECOND GAME: DEFEND THE FLAG I

The Red warriors positioned themselves on top of the hill as defending team and put up the flag on their base. The objective of the Yellow team is to overrun the camp and capture the flag. It was a long wait for the Red team as the Yellow warriors crawled to the camp slowly. The Forward force of yellow team engaged on a fierce fight at the center, as the Red warriors behind the base defended the flag with a sniping accuracy of their paintball markers. One by one the Yellow forward force were eliminated, but another Yellow squad was crawling on the left side, which was able to eliminate the defending force behind the base station bushes. The Red commander fell again with a piercing shot behind the bushes by the Yellow commander with his backup who were position flatly on the ground. As the two Red warriors behind the base, struggled with their jammed paintball markers, the Yellow team were already advancing their position and were able to eliminate the sole survivor Red Army warrior behind the the bunker in the end. Red team base fell to the hands of the Yellow team.

THIRD GAME: DEFEND THE FLAG II

The Yellow team positioned themselves as the defending group on top of the hill. Red army discussed their strategy which was to break the team into three squads and launched a 3 way attack. 2 groups would engage in the center, to distract the Yellow warriors on the base. A 3rd group will crawl on the left side to try launch a sniper attack from behind. As the Red warriors, marched along the road, the Yellow commander responded by positioning his two warriors along the road to launch an ambush. It was a rapid attack on the Red warriors as their commander shouted to take cover and crawl upward slowly to avoid being visible from the top. The Red warriors slowly climbed the hill and crawled underneath the long bushes to gain visibility of the Yellow warriors on hilltop. It was a cat and mouse game as Red warriors tries to sneak behind the trees and bunkers. However, Yellow snipers were positioned on each side, who mercilessly, targets each passing Red warriors one by one. The Red warriors fell one by one as others tried to re group for a more concentrated attack on the left side. The Red warriors were eliminated and Yellow Team defended the flag successfully.

FOURTH GAME: SPEEDBALL EXHIBITION GAME (GUN MODE)

As the sun slowly sets to end that one exciting day, the hard core warfreakz decided for a head-on match to finish the remaining paintball pellets. It was an exhibition game, as each warfreakz shows their best in running, crawling and somersault moves to avoid being hit by the flying paintball pellets. The day ended with a last hurrah. It was one fine, hot and a great day for all the PinoySG Warfreakz.

Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association (Singapore) Visits FWRC

Filed under: Group Activities — admin @ 12:00 am

In celebration of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) International College Service Fraternity’s 58th Founding Anniversary in the Phillippines, the APO Alumni Association (Singapore) conducted a service activity for our fellow kababayans in FWRC or Filipino Workers Resource Center on 1 March 2008 in close coordination with the Phillipine Embassy and the Office of the Labour Attache, Department of Labor and Employment.

Highlights of the program are the turning over of gifts and donations and “harana” by APO AAS members who serenaded the women being housed at the Center. The group happily sang acoustic music together, led by talented APO Brother Elmer, lead guitarist of Charcoal, an all-Pinoy band performing nightly at Insomnia Singapore. A fun and candid “name the song title” game was enjoyed and participated in by the group even some amount of money were raffled off during the program.

More than thirty women will benefit from the gifts and donations pooled together by members of the APO AAS for the Center which primarily include toiletries and basic needs products.

The Labor Attache representative thanked and appreciated the efforts of APO AAS in assisting the Center. Brother President Ramon dela Cruz was likewise thankful for the opportunity given to APO AAS to render a service program for the Center. He stressed that “this will not be the first and last visit of APO AAS in FWRC but will be continuing commitment”. Dental services will be arranged by the organization in the next visit and service program as promised.

The FWRC in Singapore was inaugurated in 2001 to serve as the center for training courses and upgrading of skills of Filipinos workers. The Center also houses Filipino domestic workers who are faced with different legal/para-legal cases and difficulties while seeking employment in Singapore and some who ran away from employers due to unbearable situations.

Each woman at the Center has her own story to tell, mostly sad and unfortunate stories that reflect the realities of the society we are in. As a volunteer during the activity, I was very happy and proud to be part of the activity, it may have been only a simple and fun program yet I see the joys in the eyes of these women who gave and share their time with us even for a short while.
